Description

Composed of a long textured gold chain set with alternating coral and chrysoprase cabochons, suspending a similarly-set detachable pendant-brooch, length 28 inches, chain detaches into four 7-inch segments for a variety of wear, signed Van Cleef & Arpels and VCA, numbered 120948, 120128, 120129, 120130, 120131, with French workshop and assay marks; circa 1970.

Condition

In good condition, the gold with surface scratches and areas of minor discoloration commensurate with age. Please note the numbering in the printed catalogue is incorrect and should read: 120948, 120128, 120129, 120130, 120131. The pin stems on the pendant-brooch fitting are slightly bent. Stamped OR750 and with French assay marks for 18 karat gold. The coral is light reddish orange, with white mottling visible predominantly to the reverse, one cabochon is partially pierced on the reverse side. The chrysoprase is medium bluish green, translucent and evenly colored. The chain may be worn as a single necklace or as four bracelet or as a combination of the two. Bears a nice heft. Please note this property cannot be shipped internationally due to endangered species materials.
