Condition
Lined. The surface is in very good condition overall, aside from stable, barely perceptible craquelure visible in isolated areas and along the upper edge; and minor frame abrasion along the extreme upper edge. Under UV: the varnish fluoresces green. Along the upper right extreme edge there is a broad area of brushy retouching extending from the edge of the curtain to the corner, and at the upper left extreme edge there is a horizontal line of retouching approximately one inch from the edge. Inpainting to address prior frame abrasion is visible along the extreme left and right edges. Finely applied dashes and lines of retouching are scattered throughout the three figures and the right dog. There are additional isolated dashes, pinpoint dots and smaller areas of retouching visible in the background and on the floor.
