Catalogue Note
"It's a proud leaf. Immediately I was seduced"
Claude Lalanne
The Ginkgo Biloba leaf is an important source of inspiration for Claude Lalanne.
For many years, she passionately employed its design to create tables, side tables, chairs, jewels, armchairs, benches and thrones.
Although the Ginkgo leaf - which she enlarged, amplified and exaggerated - is characteristic of her designs, it remains extremely rare for Claude Lalanne to use it to form the decorative elements of a mirror.
The present model is unique, made in 2012 and one of the few mirrors designed with the Ginkgo leaf pattern.
The imposing and generous leaves are here multiplied, displaying their majesty.
Emblematic of Asia, the leaves of this tree, which one says are immortal, surround the mirror with their presence, reminding us that these leaves are synonymous of hope and the symbol of love.
