The canvas has not been lined and is securely attached to a keyed wooden stretcher. A number of pin-head sized nail holes are visible along the extreme framing edges and a couple are also visible in and around the tree trunk closer to the centre of the upper edge. It should be noted these are minor and only visible upon close inspection. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals some minor, isolated spots of cosmetic retouching addressing some of the aforementioned pin holes, notably: - one spot in the centre of the lower framing edge; - two spots in the centre of the upper framing edge and; - two spots in the centre of the left framing edge. Otherwise, the main composition appears to be virtually untouched. This works is in good, apparently original condition and is ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a white inner slip.
