Condition

The panel is flat and cradled, there is a vertical split running though the centre, visible in the catalogue illustration. There is an area of loss above the cross, and some small losses along the split. Small areas of the gold leaf have been retouched but it is largely well-preserved. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals a small retouching to Christ's forehead and to the bottom of Saint John's robes, but little other intervention. In largely good overall condition, offered in a plain painted wood frame in good condition.
