Diamond, onyx and emerald brooch, 'Panthère', Cartier

Designed as a panther, pavé-set with brilliant- and single-cut diamonds highlighted with calibré-cut onyx, the eyes highlighted with pear-shaped emeralds, the nose accented with an onyx cabochon, signed Cartier, numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Signed Cartier Paris, numbered 11316. French maker's marks for Cartier, 13 Rue de la Paix, 75002 Paris. French assay marks and stamped Au 750 for 18 carat gold. Emeralds well matched in colour, green of medium strong saturation, with typical inclusions. Onyx in overall good condition. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 2.75 - 3.25 carats, on average G-H colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Signs of wear to the metal. Clasp secure, safety catch. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 43 grams.
