Description

- "Kent Hall" Floor Lamp
- American black walnut, rosewood, holly and rice paper
Provenance
Commissioned directly from the artist by the present owner, 1975
Condition
Overall very good condition. The wooden surfaces with scattered light surface scratches and minor abrasions and dents, consistent with age and gentle use. The holly hoops encircling the paper shade with some scattered discolorations; the upper most hoop with two dark discolorations to the top edge, each measuring approximately 1 1/2 inches wide. The burled wood base with some surface soiling to the recessed areas and some very minor expected chips to the wood. The paper shade with scattered minor discolorations, not visually detractive. The shade with three dents that do not puncture the paper, the largest measuring approximately 1 inch wide. The shade with a V-shaped tear measuring approximately 1 inch wide and with a horizontal tear measuring approximately 2 1/2 inches long. A highly functional work with great sculptural presence when viewed in person.
