Description
- Two English enamel snuff boxes, circa 1765-1770
- Enamel, metal
- 9.2cm., 3⅝in. wide ; 6.5cm. 2½in. wide
the first rectangular, the lid transfer-printed and coloured with The Haymakers, the sides and base painted with flowers within raised gilt scrolls, on a dark blue ground with dotted white diaper, the interior of base transfer-printed printed in black with The Boarhunt, wavy metal mounts, South Staffordshire; the second, rectangular, the lid and sides colourfully painted with masonic symbols and a temple against a purple sky, within raised gilt flowers and scrolls, gilt-metal mounts, probably Birmingham

Condition
Generally good condition but some fine cracks. Time wear round edges of base.
Starcrack in centre and small restoration bottom right corner of lid interior visible on exterior; time wear to edges of base; small crack to lid on right.
