Catalogue Note
The “Caged Ring” has been made by Verdura since 1941, when Fulco di Verdura created a rose gold and aquamarine version for New York socialite and American style icon Dorothy Paley Hirshon. Now in Verdura’s museum collection, this original design has become a timeless favorite, and it has since been made with a variety of gemstones. The size and cuts of the stones are carefully selected to ensure they fit perfectly with enough room to flutter with delicate movements within the caged compartment.
