Catalogue Note
Designer Shaill Jhaveri turns to botanical illustrations and historical lore for the first in his series of contemporary locket pendants. This locket, depicting the sumptuous tulip, is meant to symbolize perfect, enduring love. Native to Central Asia and the Middle East, tulips were highly cultivated by the Turks as early as 1000 A.D., before arriving in Europe in the 16th century. With diamonds and colored gemstones set in 18 karat gold, this locket captures the beauty of this highly prized bloom.
