seated in lalitasana, wearing long flowing robes opening at the chest to reveal a beaded necklace, the face with a benevolent expression with a high chignon, the reverse impressed with a Dehua mark within a double gourd and a square seal reading Puji Yuren ('virtue extends to all, even fishermen')

Christie's London, 6th June 1994, lot 200.

Condition

The figure is in good overall condition. There are minor nicks to the fragile edges, including the shawl and robes. There are expected firing imperfections, including a bodyline to the left sleeve and a firing crack on the reverse extending from the base. There is expected surface wear, including a tiny glaze flake to the left sleeve.
