Colour and Clarity: According to the jadeite certificate, the jadeite cabochon is natural, type "A" jadeite. Please refer to the certificate for details. In our opinion, the jadeite cabochon has highly translucency and evenly fine texture, of brilliant emerald green colour. It is rare to have huge jadeite cabochon (30.08 x 19.23 x 13.07mm), with great translucency and vivid colour. Upon transmitted illumination, there are few tiny white spots and cloud inclusions, but not noticeable in normal lighting. Condition: The jadeite cabochon is of double-cabochon cut, karat yellow gold mount, in very good condition.IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that jadeite and rubies of Burmese origin and articles of jewellery containing jadeite or rubies of Burmese origin all less than 100 years old may not be imported into the US. The purchaser's inability to import any item into the U.S. or any other country as a result of these or other restrictions shall not justify cancellation or rescission of the sale or any delay in payment. Please check with the specialist department if you are uncertain as to whether a lot is subject to these import restrictions, or any other restrictions on importation or exportation

________________________

Colour, texture and translucency are three main features that contribute to jadeites’ beauty. Jadeite with good texture has exceptionally fine crystals that are densely packed, which is the reason for it to appear translucent when light passes through. This quality is also known as ‘water content’ in the trade. Jadeite with high water content and fine texture is attractive even if its colour is slightly too light or too deep, however, if the jadeite is lacking water content, thus translucency, its appeal and value may be greatly affected despite rich colour.

This important jadeite cabochon is an exemplary specimen of superb texture and translucency, with a soft glow and watery lustre which is remarkably rare for a cabochon of this size. As clear as a body of fresh and clear water, this top-quality jadeite will certainly captivate the eyes of discerning jadeite collectors around the world.
