Shaker-style wooden box made for Sendak's friend and collaborator Arthur Yorinks for his 45th birthday. The lid is decorated by Sendak with pencil drawings based on characters from his forthcoming version of Jim Marshall's Swine Lake (Harper Collins, 1999). The watercolor and red lettering along the sides were done under his supervision by Lynn Caponera. The copyright inscription on the base is in Sendak's hand, and reads: Copyright (c) Arthur's Birthday August 21, 1998; Frost/Sendak Ltd. Made in Connecticut; First Edition!!! (Only 1!)
