Description

  • L'Adoration des Mages
  • Huile sur panneau, tryptique

Condition

To the naked eye: The painting is in beautiful condition. It is painted on three cradled panels perfectly straight. The pictorial matter is perfectly stable and we cannot notice any cracks. The matter is beautiful with lovely glazes well preserved with beautiful transparency. We can also notice the under drawing characteristic of that period. We cannot notice any restorations. Under UV light: The three panels appear under a green uniform varnish. We can notice some vertical restorations all along the two junctions of planks of the central panel and also on the lateral winds. We can notice some restorations on the body of the Children and also on the hat of the crouching mage. We can notice on the right wing some very few light restorations on the sky and on Saint Joseph's beard and on the left wing on the upper mage's face. The painting is in overall very satisfactory condition.

Catalogue Note
