Workshop of Jacopo da Valenza

The panel is uncradled and has a slight convex bow. There are no cracks. The paint surface is covered by a yellowed varnish.There are scattered retouchings throughout, principally carried out to fill in the many small vertical lines of craquelure in the paint surface. Inspection under ultraviolet light shows the aforementioned small retouchings and very milky varnish. This lot is offered in a plain wooden frame with a green velvet inner band, aged, but in stable condition.
