The canvas has been recently relined. Paint loss is visible at the upper left, measuring approximately 2 by 2 cm, in the face of cherub at the upper right, measuring approximately 2 by 3 cm, and on Christ's leg and torso, measuring respectively approximately 5 by 1 cm and 1 by 3 cm. There is also visible paint loss on the knee of the Madonna, measuring approximately 2 by 3 cm and on the neck of the lamb, measuring 1 by 1 cm. There is a horizontal band of paint loss measuring approximately 26 cm in length visible at the lower right of the canvas. Other scattered paint losses are visible, mainly confined to the lower half of the canvas. Also visible is a repair to the left of Christ's head, measuring approximately 4 by 4 cm, and a repair above the knee of the Madonna, measuring 5 cm across. Inspection under UV reveals a cloudy varnish and confirms the repairs.
