Condition

(i) Balinese Woman: The work is in good condition overall. There is evidence of light wear, some chipping to wood and minor areas of paint loss along the edges of the painting due to abrasions from the frame, but this does not affect the overall image. Upon close observation, pinhole-sized white accretions are visible at the lower left quadrant. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no sign of restoration. (ii) Head of Balinese Woman: There is evidence of wear, chips to wood, light abrasions and handling to the edges of the work due to abrasions from the frame. Upon close inspection, foxing is visible throughout the surface of the board, consistent with age (visible in the catalog illustration). Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no sign of restoration.
