Condition
The work is in good condition overall, as is the canvas, which is clear and sound. There is evidence of minor wear and paint loss along the edges of the painting due to abrasions from the frame, but this does not affect the overall image. Upon close inspection, there is gentle craquelure visible at areas of thicker impasto, consistent with the age of the work. Upon close observation, a 3 inch scuff is visible at the right edge of the upper right quadrant (visible in the catalog illustration). There are signs of pin-sized spots of discolouration scattered in the background together. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals signs of restoration at the left edge, upper left corner, and at the left side of the woman's face. Framed.
