Composed of links set with lapis lazuli segments, the spacers set with diamonds of yellow hue weighing approximately 5.40 carats, with seven turquoise beads suspended from a gold chain, gross weight approximately 46 dwts, internal circumference approximately 6½ inches, signed Schlumberger; circa 1968. With signed and fitted box.

Condition

In good overall condition. The lapis lazuli is a deep cobalt blue and well-matched for color with some a light dappling of pyrite throughout. The turquoise beads are medium-light blue, a few of the beads bear some very subtle lighter color mottling and minor matrix. The lapis and the turquoise both present a nice polish. The diamonds are approximately Vivid Yellow, VS clarity. The tongue is tamped with what appears to be a French census mark (rhino head). Gross weight approximately 46 dwts, Opens by pressing down on the arched thumbpiece; there is not safety clasp. Formerly from the Collection of Mrs. Paul Mellon.
