Condition
This watercolour is in good condition and many of the colours are in there original state. There is some minor surface dirt and discolouration to the sheet but in my opinion, this would clean well.

Catalogue Note
In this recently rediscovered watercolour, Turner depicts Eton on a fine summer’s day. The view is taken from the Slough Road and looks south over Fifteen Arch Bridge towards both College and the Chapel. To the right, figures appear to be fishing or shrimping in Colenorton Brook, while to the left, others look in the direction of College Field.
This work can been dated circa 1801 and, as with Turner’s Chester – A Distant View (see lot ? ), it was engraved by William Bryne for his publication Britannia Depicta, on which see the previous lot for further information.
