This wallpaper panel, depicting Boston Harbor and surrounding areas of the city of Boston during the Boston Tea Party, is one of a series of panoramic views of early America manufactured by Zuber Manufacture for the American public, from designs by Jean-Julien Deltil in 1834. The Deltil designs were done after illustrations by Jacques-Gerard Milbert (Paris, 1828) of scenes entitled "Picturesque Itinerary of the Hudson River and the Peripheral Parts of North America". It took 1656 wood-blocks to do this scenic view, with 223 colors.

The interest in these panoramic “Views of America” was such that the most important French manufacturers of that time – Dufour, Zuber and Desfosse & Karth sent their representatives to the United States.  In 1853, Zuber created an updated version of this series adding scenes of the American victory over the British entitled “War of Independence”.

The interest in his panoramic has continued into the present time. Jacqueline Kennedy, as First Lady, installed the “Views of America” in the Diplomatic Reception Rooms and private dining room at the White House.
