Description

comprising a rounded inkpot with eight faceted sides featuring incised floral motifs in lobed medallions, with gilt foliate borders on a nielloed ground, tughra of Ahmed III (r.1673-1736) to underside, the pencase comprising three tubular sections, each with an intricately incised cap and finial, the bodies with niello vegetal designs and engraved foliate sides, joined by openwork panels designed as leaves

Condition

In overall good condition, base of inkwell with tughra of Ahmed III possibly added later, as viewed.
