Condition

Overall very good condition. Please note, upon further research, the desk cited in the book entitled Jean Royere published by Galerie Jacques Lacoste illustrates this desk, not a related model as cited in the cataloguing. This is a unique desk that would have originally been covered with a wallpapered surface that is now lacking. The wooden surfaces of the desk have been refinished when the wallpaper was likely removed. The desk with a few minor light surface nicks, dings and scratches consistent with age and use. There is one area on the proper left side of the desk that presents slightly lighter in color adjacent to the seam likely due to light exposure. Some minor scattered areas of surface dirt to recessed contours of the design. The reverse of the desk is finished and retains its original key. This desk is a highly sculptural work showing the designer’s deep appreciation of line and form. In addition, the contrasting colorations of the desk and the exterior trim enhance the depth of the form.
