Condition
Overall in very good condition. The fixture retains its original glass shade which is in very good condition, displaying a few very light surface scratches, surface soiling and a few minute paint specks. The wrought iron surfaces throughout with some light surface wear and rubbing, and with surface soiling and minor discolorations throughout consistent with age and use. The lantern retains its original iron link chain, though it is lacking a ceiling canopy. The interior socket appears to be original and undisturbed; with a later pull chain which extends to the exterior of the shade through a small iron tubular guide below the canopy. This pull chain guide has an old corresponding patina to the fixture and appears to be original to the piece. A superb example of this rare Ellis lantern design dispalying elegant and refined proportions and lines.
