7 leaves, comprising (i) 3 leaves from a Book of Hours in Latin, each 185mm. by 135mm., each with a large initial (6-line) in blue or burgundy heightened with profuse white penwork on burnished gold, and enclosing ornate swirls of coloured foliage and flower heads set within a grid, wide gold text-frames on three sides punctuated with densely twisting coloured foliage, and full borders of acanthus-leaves and other more naturalistic foliage, 8 smaller initials in same also enclosing foliage, 27 one-line initials in gold on coloured grounds, 15 lines in a large and fine gothic bookhand, French Flanders, c.1450; (ii) 4 leaves (2 bifolia), from a Book of Hours in Dutch, each leaf 120mm. by 85mm., 2 large initials in variegated red and blue on contrasting penwork grounds, with extensions into margin in form of decorated bars terminating in gold finials from which sprout sprays of coloured penwork, one with a golden bird holding a banderole edged in green leaves, the other with a green dragon holding a banderole, 10 other initials in red or blue with contrasting penwork, double column, 24 lines, Delft, c.1430; item (ii) slightly trimmed, else good condition
