The navy silk bag completed by a clasp topped with a carved lapis lazuli figure, the frame applied with black and green enamel in scrollwork and geometric motifs, further accented by numerous rose-cut diamonds, measuring approximately 6½ by 7 by 1½ incheswith French assay and workshop marks, inscribed.

Condition

In good condition with faint scratching and nicking to the gold frame. Inscribed on the side of the exterior frame "S. Walewyk." The silk with almost no signs of wear to both the exterior and interior; the interior bearing a label reading "Artbag Creations, 735 Madison Ave. New York." The interior of the gold frame with more prominent scratching, possibly from when the silk bag was replaced. The carved lapis lazuli figure is medium-deep blue, with some significant spots of lighter and darker mottling and light flecks of pyrite. The figure's nose with signifcant abrading. The black and green enamel bears light scratching but remains intact. The small round diamonds on the gold frame are near colorless and decorative in quality. The purse is accompanied by a small satin money or card case located inside the bag.
