Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are tension cracks along the two vertical and lower extreme edges and unobtrusive fine vertical cracks running along the extreme right edge and lower half of the extreme left edge. Upon close inspection, there are a small number of further hairline cracks scattered in places, notably a horizontal one towards the centre of the left edge, two towards the centre of the lower edge and two very small networks within the painted figure: one at the centre of the figures chest and another towards the lower right of the figure. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
