Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly brighter, with more intensity to the red hues. Condition: This work is in very good condition. As consistent with a work of this age, there is light wear to all four corners, and intermittently along all four extreme edges with some associated minor loss to the surface pigment in places. There is slight canvas draw to the two right hand corners. There is light surface dirt and rub marks in places to the composition, most visible to the white pigment, and a few tiny media accretions, notably a spot in the light blue pigment in the top left quadrant of the work. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
