Title-pages printed in red and black, numerous portraits, views, maps, plans, and facsimiles, including 54 folding maps and charts in the atlas volume; frontispieces and a few other illustrations offset to facing pages. Publisher's green buckram gilt; many endpapers lightly foxed, heads and feet of some spines bumped and occasionally frayed, small gouge to spine of vol. 4, pt. 1.
