the lid surmounted by the kneeling figure of Alexander the Great, the body carved in the round with three scenes showing Alexander victorious in battle, the silver apparently unmarked.

Condition

Overall in good condition. The top of Alexander's spear has been replaced, as evidenced by its lighter color, and there are traces of glue to his dagger, which is also a possible replacement. Within the body one scene with Alexander holding aloft his sword, which has had a portion reglued and a visible crack.
