Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is lighter in the original. Some scattered cracks visible on the surface of the ceramic are all due to the artist process. This work is in very good condition.

Figure majeure de l'art d'avant-garde chinois des années 1980, Huang Yong Ping s'installe à Paris en 1989 à l'occasion de la célèbre exposition Les Magiciens de la Terre au Musée Nationale d'Art Moderne - Centre Pompidou à Paris. Fondateur de mouvement «Xiamen Dada», Huang Yong Ping fait d'un chiasme son mot d'ordre : «Le zen est dada, dada est le zen». Hybrides, les deux œuvres de Walking Up Langage incarnent ce goût du paradoxe. Entre zoomorphie et anthropomorphie, à la croisée des minotaures polymorphes des Surréalistes et des animaux sacrés du Palais d'Eté à Pékin, ces œuvres monumentales participent d'un bestiaire mythologique fabuleux.
