Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the charcoal black tends more towards pure black in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the rich surface texture apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is some light wear in places around the extreme edges and corners, with an associated minute abrasion at the centre of the left extreme edge. On close inspection there is a short extremely fine rub mark towards the top of the left extreme edge and a minute white pinhead-sized media accretion in the lower right corner. Some light surface dust fibres are adhering throughout. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a very short line of retouching towards the lower left corner on the lower extreme edge. A tiny canvas protrusion adjacent to the lower left corner also appears to have been retouched.
