Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly richer in the original and the colours are slightly less saturated. The catalogue illustration also fails to convey the right textural surface of the impasto passages. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are a few isolated fine hairline cracks to the thicker paint passages. On close inspection, there are a few isolated minute breaks to the impasto peaks throughout. There is a faint horizontal stretcher bar mark visible to the left hand side of the horizontal axis of the composition. There is a small spot of retouching to the upper left part of the top right quadrant, as well as another small spot in the lower left quadrant towards the centre.
