Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant, with the blue tending more to electric blue, the red to tomato red and the paper tone to ivory in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. It is hinged to the backing mount in several places on the reverse. All four edges are deckled. The sheet is very slightly undulated. There is a small handling crease to the left side of the lower extreme edge, adjacent to the blue pigment, and a further extremely faint crease to the lower left corner. There is another extremely faint handling mark in the top left corner. On close examination, there are a few extremely short drying cracks to the thicker parts of the red pigment in the lower right quadrant, with a further fine hairline crack to the right of the blue pigment stroke in the lower left quadrant.
