Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original, with more pink in the flesh tones and the paper tone tending more towards cream. Condition: This work is in very good condition. It is taped at intervals to the silk-lined backing board and all four edges are deckled. The upper right corner tip is slightly creased. There is a minute isolated spot of foxing in the upper left quadrant (approximately 5 cm. right of the extreme corner tip), and a further minute spot of discolouration in the upper right quadrant (approximately 5 cm. above the figure's raised foot). A pinprick-sized spot of media accretion is visible upon close inspection approximately 4 cm. above the figure's torso, and there are two further pigment accretions, one to the centre of the top edge and the other to the lower centre of the right edge, all of which appear to be original. Some light unobtrusive dirt has gathered to the protruding fibres of the paper surface. The paper is slightly undulating in the top section.
