Description

  • crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue
comprising: a 'Cris de Paris' figure of the fiddler, modelled by J.J. Kaendler and P. Reinecke, wearing a fur trimmed hat, a purple striped jacket, white shirt and grey breeches, his apron holding small ballad books (top of violin neck broken), (14cm., 5½in.), and a pair of Meissen  figures of Harlequin and Columbine, each modelled by J.J. Kaendler, he modelled seated playing the bag-pipes , she playing the hurdy-gurdy (some restoration) (13.7cm., 5½in. and 13.5cm., 5 3 / 8in.)

Condition

the fiddler with tip of violin neck broken, the harlequin with restoration to lower bulb of pipe and one finger missing, Columbine with restoration to waist, bodice and hat
