Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, athough the overall tonality is deeper and richer with the greens in the top right quadrant more vibrant and the red tending more towards scarlet in the original. Condition: This work is in fair condition. There are scattered paint losses in places throughout the canvas, including: to the upper extreme edge, to the right extreme edge and along the central vertical axis of the composition. The nail holes and scattered stains to the left and lower edges, and the tear to the lower left corner are all inherent to the artist's working process. There are a number of fine surface cracks scattered to the composition. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
