Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the yellow is slightly softer and the red is deeper in the original work. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The canvas is slightly slack. There is minor wear with associated minute specks of paint loss to the top two corners. There are four minute specks of paint loss: one to the right of 'No' in the upper left quadrant of the composition; one 10cm to the upper right of this; one adjacent to the left side of the nib and another to the right of the tip of the nib. Upon very close inspection, there are several further minute paint losses scattered intermittently to the red paint on the extreme turnover edges. There is a rub mark beneath the 'a' of 'Camel' and below this on the bottom edge, with associated paint losses. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
