Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the blue of the snooker table tends more towards sea green in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is minor canvas draw to the top left hand corner. A very short faint rub mark is visible on close inspection to the upper part of the left extreme edge. There are two tiny pinprick-sized losses towards the upper part of the top right quadrant and a tiny speck of paint loss beneath the edge of the frame at the upper centre of the left extreme edge. There are a few extremely light and unobtrusive rub marks to the black pigment in the lower left and right hand quadrants. There is a tiny media accretion towards the top of the left edge of the snooker table, one to the right of the goblet and another to the right side of the lower extreme edge. There are three pinprick-sized specks of white pigment to the right of the snooker table and a few minute fly spots to the left hand white ball and to the top part of the black pigment grid. Under ultraviolet light there are small spots of retouching to the right of the signature in the lower left quadrant, to the top right hand corner and to the top left hand corner on the upper extreme edge. There are a few further spots of retouching to the snooker table and to a few isolated places elsewhere, mainly to the upper part.
