Description

Comprising: two brooches; one designed as a bar embellished with a fleur-de-lys motif set with rose-cut diamonds, a cushion-shaped emerald and three pearls; the other centring on an oval reverse crystal intaglio depicting a mallard duck; together with a pair of pendent earrings set with circular-cut paste, fitted case.

Condition

Fleur-de-lys brooch: Emerald a vibrant green with moderately strong saturation of colour, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, surface reaching fractures, one cavity to the left and a chip to the right hand side. The pearls slightly drop-shaped, well matched, with rosé overtones and medium lustre. Please note one pearl is drilled right through. Diamonds bright. Fitted case embossed with the initials 'B.H.M 24.11.31', a few scratches to the leather exterior, some marking and slight discolouration to velvet and silk interior. Reverse intaglio brooch: Stamped 18 for 18 carat gold. Very fine painting in good condition, mother-of-pearl backing. Polishing lines to the rock crystal face and light scratches only visible with magnification. Inscribed to the reverse 'B.H.M 24.11.31 From her Godfather J.A.' Traces of gold solder and tarnish to reverse where pin was affixed. Earrings: set throughout with circular-cut paste, well articulated. Collection in very good condition.
