- Signed and dated 1889 l. l.
- Oil on canvas
- Side panels (each): 154.5 by 59 cm. Central panel: 154.5 by 79 cm.
Condition
Central panel: Original canvas. Minor buckling in right upper corner. Minor/scattered paint losses throughout the canvas. A restoration with adjoining re-touches centrally in the antler with a large patch on reverse. Large re-touched area left of legs. Some scattered re-touches and restorations throughout the body. Minor re-touches along the lower edge. Would benefit from cleaning.
Right panel: Restored diagonal tear of approximately 14cm. centrally in upper part of the sky. Re-touched area to hind leg of hound. Scattered re-touches throughout background and foreground. Would benefit from cleaning.
Left panel: Large sauced-in area centrally in the sky. large restored vertical tear of approximately 25cm. along the upper edge. Large restored T-shaped tear to the lower dog. Would benefit from cleaning.
