The monkey army mounts a ferocious attack on the demons assaulting them with boulders, uprooted trees, weapons and even their bare hands and teeth, causing a veritable blood bath.

Catalogue Note

The dramatic composition is executed with flair and conveys the chaos of the battlefield. The humanoid depiction of the monkeys clad in striped drawers with cap-like heads and prominent snouts is also seen in paintings from Basholi and Bilaspur which influenced Kulu artists.
