Seema Ghurayya

Seema Ghurayya's soft abstract canvases appear to be sheathed in a sort of quietness and solitude that hints at personal and universal meanings. She has refrained from using any identifiable forms and avoids  reference to the environment around her. Her works are neither ostentatious nor lavish, instead she chooses light airy colours with a sparing minimalist sensibility that is rare. Her precise use of color absorbs and compliments the geometrical lines and figures she etches onto the canvas. Her paintings appear to be reflections upon the inexpressable nature of silence and light.
