Catalogue Note

The two branches of the family of Derome produced numerous binders during the eighteenth century: by far the most celebrated was Nicolas Denis, known as Jerome le jeune (1731--1788). He is particularly well-known for the creation of an individual style, "dentelles a l'oiseau".
